Drover’s cattle ear tags have been extensively trialed and are approved for use under the NLIS. Our ear tags consist of a HDX microchip contained in a lightweight polyurethane two-piece tag. The HDX microchip has been developed exclusively for Drover’s and was designed specifically to suit Australian conditions to provide fast, reliable data capture in paddock, sale yard and abattoir conditions.

Visually readable information can also be printed on a light flexible flap permanently attached to the female component of the device, using Drover's exclusive print processes to create highly visual, UV stable characters.

Size and clarity of the printed characters enables the tag to be used as an on-farm management tag while visual characters on the tag can be read in the paddock, yard or race.

Electronic read distance is up to one meter for sheep and 1.2 meters for cattle using a commercial race mounted panel reader.
